  • Topic: Competition Shooting
    • How does it play into your training plan
    • Good
    • Bad
  • Some say it is bad (naysayers)
    • Competiton fosters bad habits
  • I personally believe it is a valuable component to your training regimen and has its place…but it is JUST A GAME.
  • Competition is not training but rather shooting exercises in sequence/ a game with guns
  • Better than the average static/flat range time
  • USPSA
  • IDPA
  • IPSC
  • STEEL CHALLENGE
  • SASS
  • Goal of most of the games is to get good hits rapidly for a good score
  • Bad hits = add time = loose points
  • No shoot = add time = loose points
  • Procedural error/ rule error = add time = loose points
  • Higher time = lower score/ lower in the overall standings
  • Probably wouldn’t, but may,  handle real world tactical problem as I would in a game
  • Getting shot at changes the dynamic of the situation…significantly
  • Cant replicate the real world on a static range
  • Shoot or move as fast in real life as in a game? Maybe/ maybe not situation depends
